Brooklyn’s own Mike Giordano aka CMG was part of
the 90’s Rap outfit Onyx. He’s been an Actor, Comedian, Rapper and now adds
Vocalist to his impressive list of achievements. His last release was the very
well received “Tell Me” recorded with Carol Douglas which still enjoys Gold and
Recurrent spins in Mix Shows across the U.S. For this next single he decided to
record “Weekend” but this time he is singing. Mike has sung before but was
better known as a Rapper and he also provides a Rap on this production as well.
“Weekend” has already been very well received as Mike has been out on tour
performing this tune since last summer at Italian festivals and Nightclubs in
the New York Tri-State Area.
Carol Williams was the Golden Voice of the Salsoul
Orchestra! Her first success came with her recording of “More” originally
recorded by Kai Winding for the movie “Mondo Cane.” Her single “Love Is You” was
the inspiration behind DJ Spiller’s “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love.)” In fact
when DJ Spiller first played the Instrumental track for his then untitled tune
at Groovejet in Miami he mixed his new production with “Love Is You” by Carol
Williams to cheers from the dancefloor! There was no denying the magic of
Carol’s voice over the Vince Montana production. You may also know Carol from
her Vanguard single “Can’t Get Away (From Your Love)” produced by Darryl Payne
and a Paradise Garage classic! This Montclair, New Jersey native now resides in
Queens and met Mike through her good friend Carol Douglas and now “Weekend”
represents where Carol is today and she has been touring with Mike and appears
in the video as well.
Mike and his creative muse, his wife Lisa Giordano have a love of life and
fondly recall the days when Disco ruled the Airwaves and what that lifestyle
represented. It was a simpler time, where despite the misrepresentation of the
movie Saturday Night Fever, tolerance was the rule of the day. The Dancefloors
of New York City were the true melting pot of cultures NYC is famous for as
people went out on the “Weekend” to enjoy a dance, have a cocktail, hang out
with friends and live life to the fullest. “Weekend” represents that perfectly.
